Municipal Palace (City Hall)

The Municipal Palace of Veracruz, historically known as Casa de Cabildos, stands proudly facing the main Zócalo. It serves as the seat of the oldest municipal government in continental America, founded by Hernán Cortés in 1519. Featuring classic 17th and 18th-century neoclassical architecture, elegant arcades, and a grand central courtyard, it has been the civic epicenter of Veracruz for over five centuries.
