Veracruz City Museum

The City Museum of Veracruz, named in honor of Colonel Manuel Gutiérrez Zamora, is set in an old historical building in the center of the port. The site safeguards pieces, photographs, and documents related to the evolution of Veracruz from the colonial era to the present. Its rooms explain themes such as the foundation of the city, maritime trade, foreign invasions, the daily life of the port, and the urban development of the historic center. The museum also recognizes the importance of Manuel Gutiérrez Zamora, a liberal Veracruz politician and defender of the reformist ideas of the 19th century.
