Francisco I. Madero

Francisco I. Madero (1873-1913) was a Mexican businessman, writer, and politician known as the "Apostle of Democracy." As leader of the National Anti-Reelectionist Party, he challenged the dictatorship of Porfirio Díaz and succeeded in being elected president of Mexico in 1911, before being tragically overthrown and assassinated.
