San Francisco Convent (Benito Juárez Lighthouse)

The former Convent of San Francisco, later known as the Benito Juárez Lighthouse and Reform Enclosure, is a paramount 16th-century historic monument. Its grand tower served as Veracruz's first lighthouse during the 19th century. Within these historic walls, President Benito Juárez enacted the monumental Reform Laws between 1859 and 1860, establishing the separation of Church and State in Mexico.
