Baluarte de Santiago

The last survivor of the seven bastions that made up the city's defensive wall in the 17th century. Known as "El polvorín" (The Powder Magazine), this historical monument is a masterpiece of military architecture that today protects pre-Hispanic treasures and the walled memory of Veracruz.
